Vaccination

The Hepatitis B series consists of 3 shots over a 6-month period. To be effective, people getting the shots MUST FOLLOW THROUGH AND GET ALL THREE SHOTS.  The shots are given in the upper arm, and have a very low incidence of side effects. In most cases, a person will become immune to Hepatitis B after 3 shots.

Hepatitis B shots are now required for all school-age children.

There is no vaccine for Hepatitis C or HIV, therefore it is critical to protect yourself.
